Account Closure Policy

How closing an account works, for you and for us

You can ask to close your account at any time. Once we have settled outstanding balances, holds, and any linked products, we will transfer whatever remains to an account you have nominated.

If You Choose to Close Your Account

You can ask to close your account at any time. Once we have settled outstanding balances, holds, and any linked products like Lombard loans or term deposits, we will transfer whatever remains to an account you have nominated.

If We Need to Close an Account

We reserve the right to close accounts where source of funds documentation cannot be provided to our satisfaction, or where activity does not match what was declared at onboarding. We will notify you in writing and give you a reasonable window to arrange the transfer of remaining funds.

Timelines

  • Standard closures are processed within 10 business days of settlement
  • Funds are only released to a verified external account

What Happens to Linked Products

If you are closing an account with an active Lombard loan, that balance needs to be repaid, or the underlying collateral transferred to a facility that can continue to support it, before closure completes. Term deposits can generally be closed early, though breaking a term before maturity typically forfeits some or all of the accrued interest on that deposit, your relationship manager can confirm the exact terms before you proceed. Precious metals holdings in an allocated account can be transferred to another custodian or, in some cases, arranged for physical delivery, subject to logistics and delivery fees.
