Trade Finance & International Payments

Infrastructure for businesses that move money and goods across borders

For clients running international trading operations or cross border businesses, we support the instruments and payment infrastructure that make those transactions possible.

What We Support

  • Letters of credit and documentary collections, evaluated case by case
  • Multi currency payment routing for suppliers and counterparties abroad
  • Correspondent banking relationships across major trading corridors
  • Guidance on structuring payments to minimize delay and cost

Why Correspondent Relationships Matter

When you send an international payment, it does not always travel directly from Winslow to your counterparty's bank. It often passes through one or more correspondent banks that both institutions have a relationship with, each of which processes and forwards the payment, sometimes deducting a small handling fee along the way. A bank with strong, direct correspondent relationships in the corridors its clients actually use, USD to major European and Asian banking centers, for example, can generally get payments there faster and with fewer intermediary deductions than one relying on a longer chain of unfamiliar banks. This is one of the quieter but most consequential parts of running an internationally active business, and it is a big part of why we invest specifically in the corridors our corporate clients actually use.
